Community, I ask you to join me in this prayer for Colorado Front Range Tres Dias."

-John Thompkins, President, CFRTD

"Lord, if we are pleasing to YOU, then Grow us as YOUR Community and empower us to expand YOUR Kingdom and as YOU refine us Lord, keep us safe from the evil one and from temptation as we grow in faith and obedience to produce the fruit that is pleasing to YOU. If NOT, LORD please shut us down quickly and send us elsewhere so YOU can use us to do YOUR Kingdom work where YOU need each of us. In JESUS name we pray, AMEN"

TO GIVE OR NOT TO GIVE

Pay it Forward has been a huge blessing to maintain economic diversity within our community, so that NO one feels ostracized or shamed by exorbitant team fees that would soon be approaching nearly $300 a person if we hadn’t moved to an all giving model.
What can’t be lost in the message though, is a weekend is NOT free…it definitely costs almost $300 per person to attend.
Pay it Forward asks for ALL community members whether serving or not to give something according to what you can. By everyone giving something such as $20, $50, or $100 a month, we’ll continue to thrive.
It’s not a difficult decision. It really comes down to a simple thought process that you should apply to every nonprofit ministry you consider contributing to.
Is the ministry worthy and doing Kingdom work or not?
If Colorado Front Range shut down tomorrow, would that have any negative Kingdom impact?
The answer to that question must be determined in your heart, mind, and Soul as you seek God and should be the deciding factor whether you do or do not contribute.
The decision really is that simple.

Giving Methods and Instructions

This page explains the various giving methods and has instructions for how to make one time and/or recurring gifts.  The Pay it Forward committee has researched the most effective ways to accept monthly or quarterly gifts as an option for budgeting, to minimize the burden on the giver, and to streamline financial processing.  In all cases, the Treasurer will provide you with a tax donation statement at the end of the year. The ideal gift is $300 per weekend.

Statement of Belief, as adopted by CFRTD

Tres Dias is a Christian ministry that revitalizes Christian men and women in their walk with Christ by encouraging them in three areas:

  • Impact their home and work environments for Christ
  • Maintain their own relationship with Christ through small group sharing
  • Return to their home churches with a renewed desire to be a Servant Leader

Most attendees are Protestant although all Christians who accept the Tres Dias “Statement of Belief” are welcome.

1. We believe and profess our faith in one Triune God - The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.  (Matthew 28:19)

2. We believe and profess that Jesus Christ is the only Savior and is God in the flesh.  (John 1:1, 1:14, 3:36, 14 and Hebrews 2:17)

3. We believe and profess that The Holy Spirit is God and is The Lord and Giver of life, who continues to work in believers today to sanctify, edify and empower the whole Christian church on earth for His purpose (Job 33:4, Acts 1:8, John 14:26 & Rom. 8:11).

4. We believe and profess that the Holy Scriptures are the inspired and completely true Word of God.  (II Tim 3:16-17)

5. We believe and profess that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; that forgiveness of sins is received through confession and repentance, and that our sins our washed away through the blood of Jesus Christ.  (Acts 2:38, I John 1:9 and Romans 3:23)

6. We believe and profess that salvation is a gift of God's grace received through personal faith in Jesus Christ and we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works which He prepared in advance for us.  (Eph 2:8-10)

7. We believe and profess that the Body of Christ is to make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God.  (Eph 4:3, 13)

8. We believe and profess that God's unconditional love, as made manifest to us through Jesus Christ, is the primary witness by which people are renewed, edified and changed.  (I Cor 13:8)

9. We believe and profess that God has called us to live holy lives that will bring glory to His name.  (Col 3:1-25)

Note:  For purposes of standards and principles, Tres Dias ascribes to those stated in the “Authorized King James Version” of the Bible of 1611 (KJV).

What is Tres Dias?

Tres Dias is an adult weekend that aims to concentrate closely on the person of Jesus Christ and His teachings.  While Tres Dias explores basic Christian beliefs, it is best described as a spiritual encounter with Jesus Christ. Many who have attended a weekend have experienced a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Christ as they sense His love in a dynamic way.

What is our purpose?

The mission of Tres Dias is to build and strengthen leaders for Christ; and to empower them to become leaders within their families, their small groups, their churches, and their communities.

Tres Dias is an inter-denominational weekend encounter with Jesus Christ. Some may want to call it a retreat, but it does not have the solitude of a retreat. The focus of the weekend is "God's unmerited love." The weekend is designed to show the "agape" type love that God pours out on us. This is love that is unconditional, unmerited, and for which the only true response can be love in return.

Design of the Weekend

The weekend runs from Thursday evening through Sunday afternoon.  Those that attend a weekend are called pilgrims.  In addition to other pilgrims, the weekend consists of committed Christian volunteers who serve as team members. They will attempt to share "Christ within them" with the pilgrims, while expecting nothing in return.

During the weekend you can expect:

  • Group discussion of topics that are of vital interest to the body of Christ
  • Times of prayer, sharing and fellowship
  • Lots of music and singing
  • Lots of fun!
  • Lots of good food
  • Most importantly, you can expect that God will meet you exactly where you are.

Generally, the weekends are designed for men to go through the weekend first, and then a week later the wives (women) will attend. Singles are encouraged and accepted to attend a weekend.

What Tres Dias IS

Tres Dias is a "once in a lifetime" experience. Once a person has attended a weekend, they are not permitted to attend as a pilgrim again. They are encouraged to serve as a team member on a future weekend. Following the weekend, pilgrims are encouraged to participate in small groups, or as we like to call them, reunion groups. The bonds that form during the weekend are an important part of the weekend.

What Tres Dias is NOT

  • Tres Dias is not intended to become an alternative to your home church or place of worship.
  • Tres Dias is not a denomination, nor is it designed to become a focal point of worship, other than during the particular weekend you attend or serve on.

Essentially, Tres Dias is the expression of God's unmerited love expressed through the Christians serving and attending the weekend, His people.  It is the desire of the Tres Dias community that pilgrims will return to their home churches with the empowerment of a revitalized relationship with Jesus Christ through His Holy Spirit.

Why Tres Dias is so special?

There are two things that make every Tres Dias weekend special.

  • The first, and most important, is prayer.  Once a person completes a weekend, they become part of the Tres Dias community.  The community is made aware of the weekend schedule and it is the desire and responsibility of the community to hold each weekend up in prayer!  These weekends are literally bathed in prayer, love and support.
  • The second is the support of the Tres Dias community.  Very often, people are touched by God's love in a powerful way on their weekend, and it becomes their desire to share that experience with others.  It is this community of believers that support the weekends with their prayers and their physical labors.  Christians work behind the scenes of every weekend to make certain that the needs of the pilgrims are met!

What do I have to do?

Anyone who wishes to attend a weekend must have a sponsor who has previously completed a weekend. This person or couple is called the sponsor. They carry a significant responsibility to ensure that the pilgrims family is taken care of, so that they pilgrim can focus on the activities of the weekend and not worry about what is happening at home.

See your sponsor and ask him/her to submit a nomination application for you. They will submit a digital nomination application with your name, email, phone number, and gender. The pre-weekend committee will then send you a digital application from this website for you to fill out. Just make sure you get with your sponsor to answer any questions and to have their information ready while filling out the application. Once it is filled out, your sponsor and the pre-weekend committee will take care of the rest. You will then start to receive information about when and where the weekend is as well as information about what to bring and what not to bring. Your sponsor should be available to fill in any of the details.

Be sure to let your sponsor know if you have any medication or dietary needs and include them on your digital application. Most special diets can be accommodated, however, if you have special requirements, please bring those with you on the weekend. If medications are needed, please bring those with you as well as letting your sponsor and team members know. This way, they can remind you to take those medications when needed, if desired.
